Whistler — Destination Intel

Whistler Blackcomb is the largest ski resort in North America by skiable terrain and sets the standard for snowboard infrastructure on the continent. The terrain spans two linked mountains connected by the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola, giving riders access to significant variation throughout a single day. The snowboard culture here is deeply embedded: the resort has produced a disproportionate number of professional riders and hosts major competitive events in most seasons. Park facilities are world-class, including multiple progressive terrain parks and a superpipe. The village is purpose-built for ski tourism, meaning accommodation, rentals, and lessons are all in close proximity and well-organised. The main season runs December through April, with late-season conditions on Blackcomb's upper glacier sometimes extending into June. Lift pass costs are at the high end of the global range, though early-season and multi-day passes reduce the per-day rate considerably.
